Gift Blocks: visibility settings

Decide which products are eligible for gift options

All products in your Shopify store are eligible for gift options. This means that any product can be gifted by your customer. In some cases, you may wish to prevent your customers from gifting certain products.

The Gift Block visibility feature allows you to decide which products are eligible to be gifted by your customers, and it works by adding a tag to your product.

By applying the Gift block visibility tag to your products in the Shopify admin, gift blocks will not appear for tagged products on the product details page, cart page, and cart drawers.

This tag can be found in the app by visiting the gift option settings pages (located on the side column).

πŸ’‘ Use Shopify Flow to automatically tag new products when they are created. This is ideal for stores who allow a small subset of products to be gifted.

Important notes

  • If you are using Shopify Markets for international customers, you may also decide to prevent the connected gift product from appearing in the market. This is handled in the product details of the Shopify admin as it is a Shopify Market feature.

  • The Gift block visibility tag applies to all markets, when the product is tagged, gift blocks will not appear regardless of the markets assigned.
