How your store compares with similar stores

You can see where gifting in your business stands among similar stores, on one card in Wrapped. A note under the chart says it in words and suggests your next step.

Where to find it

  1. From your Shopify admin, open Wrapped.

  2. Press Reports.

Read the chart

Similar stores are businesses like yours, chosen by a variety of measures such as order volume, store size, and industry. The comparison is anonymous, so no business can see which stores it is compared with.

The card shows one bar for each measure: Gift Orders, Gift Revenue, Gift Sales, and Average Gift Order. Each bar shows where your business stands among similar stores over the last 90 days. The further right a bar reaches, the more similar stores your business is ahead of.

The scale runs from 0% to 100%. The line marked Typical store is the middle, where a typical similar store sits. A bar reaching 70% means your business is ahead of about 70% of similar stores on that measure.

When your business charges no gift fee, the Gift Revenue row says “No gift fee to compare” instead of showing a bar.

The card updates every day.

Your next step

The note under the chart reads your Gift Orders bar and says it in words, such as “Your gift orders are ahead of about 70% of similar stores.” Then it suggests what to do next.

When your business is behind, tell shoppers about gifting in your marketing emails, SMS, and social posts, and keep gift options showing on your product pages.

When your business is ahead, keep gifting in your campaigns, add a gift message or premium wrap, and plan around gifting seasons.

With no gift orders in the last 90 days, the card shows your first step instead, under Early days for gifting.
